Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Conversa LLC ("Conversa," "we," "us," or "our"), a Massachusetts limited liability company, governing your access to and use of the Conversa mobile application (the "App") and website at www.getconversa.app (the "Site").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, or by clicking "I Agree" during registration, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Conversa. By using the App, you represent that you are 13 or older.
1. Description of the Service
Conversa is a voice-first prayer journaling app that allows users to record prayers by voice, receive AI-assisted transcriptions and summaries, and track their prayer journey over time. The App is available in two tiers:
1.1 Free Tier
The Free Tier includes unlimited prayer recording, voice-to-text transcription, per-prayer AI summaries, unlimited prayer history, and the ability to mark prayers as answered. The Free Tier is available at no charge and does not expire.
1.2 Premium Tier
Conversa Premium includes all Free Tier features plus: the Answered Prayers filtered tab, Ask Conversa (AI-powered prayer insights, 100 questions per month), extended prayer length to 10 minutes, and 20 total categories to select from. Premium is available by paid subscription as described in Section 3.
2. Accounts and Registration
You must create an account to use Conversa. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your password
- Promptly update your information if it changes
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
You may not share your account credentials with others. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@getconversa.app.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
3.1 Reverse Trial and Free Tier
New users receive a 7-day free trial of Conversa Premium. No payment method is required to begin the trial, and no charge is made during it. At the end of the trial, your account automatically converts to the Free Tier unless you choose to subscribe. You will not be charged unless you actively subscribe. The Free Tier includes unlimited prayer history and core features and does not expire.
3.2 Subscription Pricing
Conversa Premium is available at the following rates:
- Founder's Pricing: $3.99 per month or $39.99 per year, limited to the first 500 subscribers
- Standard Pricing: $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year
Founder's Pricing is available only while founder subscriptions remain available. Once the first 500 founder subscriptions have been claimed, Founder's Pricing is no longer offered to new subscribers. If you subscribe at Founder's Pricing, you will continue to be charged at that rate for as long as your subscription remains active and uninterrupted.
Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
3.3 Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions purchased within the App are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same rate at the end of each billing period — monthly for monthly plans, annually for annual plans — unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Subscriptions purchased through our website are processed by Stripe and renew automatically on the same schedule until cancelled.
3.4 Cancellation
If you subscribed through the App Store, you may cancel at any time in iOS Settings under your name, then Subscriptions, or through the App Store app. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period to avoid being charged for the next period. Conversa cannot cancel, modify, or refund an App Store subscription on your behalf.
If you subscribed through our website, you may cancel at any time in the App's Settings screen or by contacting support@getconversa.app.
In all cases, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain Premium access through the end of the paid period. We do not issue prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
3.5 Refunds
Purchases made through the App Store are subject to Apple's refund policies, and all refund requests for those purchases must be made directly to Apple. We are not able to issue refunds for App Store purchases.
For purchases made through our website, all subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 30 days at support@getconversa.app and we will review your case.
3.6 Changing Your Plan
You may switch between monthly and annual billing at any time. If you subscribed through the App Store, plan changes are handled by Apple and take effect according to Apple's upgrade and downgrade rules. Subscribers on Founder's Pricing who switch between monthly and annual billing remain on Founder's Pricing.
4. Your Content
4.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership of all prayer transcriptions, notes, and other content you create in the App ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content.
4.2 License to Conversa
By using the App, you grant Conversa a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process Your Content solely to the extent necessary to provide the App's services to you — specifically, to transmit your voice to our transcription provider, to generate AI summaries, and to store and display Your Content back to you. This license does not include any right to use Your Content for marketing, advertising, or to train AI models.
4.3 Privacy of Your Content
We will never sell your prayer data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models. Your prayers are private. Please review our Privacy Policy at www.getconversa.app/privacy for full details.
4.4 Acceptable Use of Content
You agree not to record or submit content that:
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Contains threats, harassment, or content designed to harm others
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that egregiously violate these content standards, though we do not routinely monitor prayer content.
5. AI Features and Important Limitations
Conversa uses AI to generate prayer summaries (Whisper by OpenAI) and power the Ask Conversa feature (Claude by Anthropic). By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
AI as a reflection tool only. Conversa's AI is designed to help you recall patterns and reflect on your prayer journey. It is not a spiritual advisor, therapist, or religious authority.
- The AI does not speak for God and does not provide spiritual guidance or theological interpretation.
- The AI does not provide mental health counseling, medical advice, or legal advice.
- AI-generated summaries and insights are automated and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or miss important context.
- You should always rely on your own judgment, trusted people in your life, and your faith community for important decisions.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please contact a qualified professional or call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) immediately. Conversa is not equipped to respond to emergencies.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, design, trademarks, and technology in the App — excluding Your Content — are owned by Conversa LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App without our prior written permission.
"Conversa" and the Conversa logo are trademarks of Conversa LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Use the App to scrape, harvest, or collect data from other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our systems
- Use the App in any way that could disable, damage, or impair our infrastructure
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or access free trials multiple times
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We do not warrant the accuracy of AI-generated content. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CONVERSA LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Conversa LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time through Settings in the App.
Upon termination: (a) your license to use the App ends immediately; (b) we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy; and (c) any accrued payment obligations remain in effect.
Sections 4.1 (Your Ownership), 6, 8, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property matters.
Any arbitration shall be conducted in Massachusetts or remotely. YOU AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by displaying a prominent notice in the App at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
14. General
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Conversa regarding the App.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
